Chania Lyceum Club of Greek Women has seven editions of books related to its contribution to the life of our country to its credit. These publications were implemented by the late Zoi Mitsotakis, former \u03a0resident:<\/span><\/p>\n

In this book the medium of narration is mainly the photos of Lyceum members and proud girls and boys. Through them the history of the Lyceum emerges, an almost century of beauty and rich activity that is related to the history and culture of Chania.<\/span>

The Cretan towel with its decorative binding, ties and symbols is presented with rich photographic material and an interpretation of their symbolism is given. The Sfakian bindings were studied and highlighted by Marie Naxaki and the book includes photographs of the samples in her collection.<\/span><\/p>\n

Florentini Kaloutsi and the art of Crete, published by the Benaki Museum, 1999, p. XXX <\/span><\/p>\n
The aim of the book is to contribute to the presentation and rescue of Florentini’s work, who was inspired by the Minoan Civilization when it was revealed by the archaeological dig and designed Minoan themes that she used in textiles and woodcarving.<\/span><\/p>\n

This book refers to the 156 letters of thanks from our soldiers from the Asia Minor front after sending parcels of knitted jerseys, socks, gloves, etc. from the Lyceum ladies. The shocking testimonies of our soldiers unfolding their souls and lives at the front are presented.<\/span><\/p>\n

Klidonas is a folk custom that survives from antiquity and is celebrated on June 24, a day that coincides with the birth of St. John the Forerunner. According to custom, unmarried girls are shown the identity of their future husband. The form describes the ritual and includes the characteristic mantinades and are sung at the klidon.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″]

The Goat dance (Rumatiani Susta) is a men’s dance, of the shepherds, which resembles the jumps of the goat, a variation of the Susta. The document includes testimonies from locals about the past of the dance and its main characteristics.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=”1\/2″]
